The Hackensack Riverkeeper – Presentation and Panel Discussion

Tenafly High School students in environmental science classes with Dr. Kennedy along with Tenafly 7th grade science
students learned about the importance of the Hackensack Watershed and clean water as such. The event took place in the Tenafly High School Media Center.  A very interactive panel discussion and many questions from

OUR DRINKING WATER: THE HACKENSACK WATERSHED AND THE TENAKILL CREEK

THE HACKENSACK RIVERKEEPER, TENAFLY SCHOOLS SCIENCE INSTRUCTORS, TENAFLY HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS PARTICIPATE INA PRESENTATION AND PANEL DISCUSSION WITH LIVE VIDEO FROM THE TENAKILL

TENAFLY, NJ – Hugh Carola, the Hackensack Riverkeeper and Tenafly Middle and High School students will participate in a presentation and panel discussion about the Hackensack River Watershed, its complex ecosystem and the importance
of preserving it. Visuals include live video feed from the Tenakill Creek bordering both school properties, a local Starbucks Frappuccino made in part with water from the Tenakill Creek (Suez Water Company) and the 17 Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Hugh Carola, Hackensack Riverkeeper will give a presentation about the Hackensack River Watershed for the first half of the event. He will then be joined by Dr. Robert Kennedy, HS environmental science instructor and Ms. Cathy
Paz, Tenafly Middle School Curriculum Supervisor for a panel discussion to include questions from students.

This landmark event will take place in the Tenafly High School Library Media Center. It will be broadcast live to Tenafly over Cablevision channel 77 and streamed on 
www.librarymedia.net/ch77 with the hopes of increasing awareness and care for the environmental resources surrounding us.
