MUSIC FROM CHINA PERFORMS A UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL & ENTERTAINING PROGRAM IN THE
TENAFLY HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY JOINED BY THE TENAFLY HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA AT THE CONCLUSION. SPONSORED BY THE TENAFLY EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION AND THE THS CHINESE CULTURAL CLUB
TENAFLY, NJ – On November 18th at 12:50 p.m. Music From China will perform at Tenafly High School. Founded in 1984, Music From China is a renowned New York based chamber group performing with authentic traditional Chinese instruments. Their styles range from mellow, tuneful classical and folk repertoire to cutting-edge compositions by today’s composers. Students studying Mandarin Chinese language, music, teachers, administrators and parents will be in attendance. The intimate atmosphere of the Tenafly High School Library Media Center will provide attendees with a unique, up close experience. Students will become familiar with the traditional instruments and the aesthetics of traditional Chinese music. At conclusion, Music from China will be joined by the Tenafly High School Orchestra, conducted by James Millar, to perform a traditional piece entitled Flowers and Moon. This unique program will be televised to classrooms (Channel 30.1) and the community (Channel 77) as well as streamed over www.librarymedia.net/ch77.
